Pictures from the summer

Well, summer is over and a new year of school has begun! We have taken it easy, somewhat, this summer but have posted some pictures of various events such as 4th of July cookout at the Hagewood's (with visits from the Hagey's and a Wiseman), Kathryn's first ride on Thomas the Tank Engine (again with Hagey's and BOY was it hot that day), visit to the Roswell Hagewood's and some fun pictures of cousins (Grayson, Skylar, and Zoe) at the park (not to mention some AWESOME morning hair pictures!!!), Jonathan's last day at Primrose School, and his first day a David Lipscomb Elementary!

Hmmm ... I guess maybe we "have" been busy ... ? Click the link below for a simple slideshow of all this fun stuff! Love to everyone ...

Grayson's Song

Grayson

Skylar and Zoe

Zoe

The Atlanta Hagewoods were here for a visit this past weekend and we had a lot of fun. Saturday morning Grayson, Skylar and Zoe Grace all took turns playing the synthesizer and drums in my studio. Later, Grayson got pretty serious and asked me if we could record him playing a song he had written. We had fun laying down tracks. After a few takes, I asked him to try and play along with a "click track" (metronome) which he had never done....and he DID GREAT! Then he asked me if I could put drums to this song, which I promised him I would.

So, the widget below has two versions of Grayson's Song....one of just him alone, and one with the drums I have added for him. Click on the little speaker icon to hear them play!

Now We're Cookin!!

Yes, it is official. The Hagewood's now own a grill! Happy Father's Day, John! We love you! We just now had our first "real" grill installed, so now our back yard REALLY looks like someone lives here! Swingset, grill ... yup, we are definitely gonna stay in this house for a while!

Swingset Day

6 weeks ago we finally bought a Rainbow Play System for the backyard. Today it arrived. The poor delivery and setup man labored for 8 hours in the 90+ degree sun, and finished just in time for me to go get the kids at school, and bring them home to their surprise.

Jonathan got a peek of it from the car as we were pulling into the driveway, and got pretty excited. Then as we came out the back door, they both squealed with sheer delight and ran to go swing, slide, climb and explore.

After a while they wanted to play in the water (temperature was still in the 80's), but after splashing around in the driveway for a bit and getting cooled off, they were back at the swingset again. I finally managed to convince them to come in, dry off and have dinner about 8pm!

Here is a funny video of Jonathan teaching Kathryn how to swing on her belly!

Memorial Day Weekend

This afternoon after Church started out as a quiet one, with the kids on the back deck painting in a Curious George coloring book.

Before I knew it, Jonathan was painting himself, then Kathryn started painting herself and Jonathan (click on the image to enlarge, and look at the artistic and somewhat psychedelic paint-shoes he has made on himself).

In the interest of not getting paint all over the kitchen, Jonathan decided a little water-play was in order, and the results were pretty hilarious (and a great photo op!)

In this cute video, Kathryn is spraying Jonathan with water and pretending to be a monster!

Kathryn's 2nd Birthday

Today was Kathryn's 2nd birthday! It has been such a wonderful day. I'm not sure if she actually realizes it's her special day, but something tells me she knows. She got a couple presents from Mommy, Daddy and Jonathan this morning, and then this afternoon we had family over for a little Princess party (Aunt Chelle, Uncle Jason, Nana, Pops, GrandNana and Great Granddad).

Hope you enjoy these great pictures! She seemed to like dipping veggies in ranch dressing more than the actual birthday cake ... go figure. :-)

Kathryn's First Ponytail!!!

Yes, it was a monumental day yesterday to have Kathryn come home with a ponytail sprout on top of her head. She finally has enough hair! Her teachers at school must have done this - she must have seen another girl getting one, and she probably wanted one too. Of course, Mommy HAD to take pictures of it. Here are some more pictures, as well as some absolutely sweet pictures of the kids from last night! Click the link below and enjoy!

Good Friday at the Zoo

Since the kids' school was closed, John took the day off and we visited the Nashville Zoo at Grassmier Park.

A fine time was had by all.

Eight Days Later, and spring is here!

After Church on this beautiful Palm Sunday, the kids enjoyed riding their bikes and scooters, then Kathryn played in the back yard.

We finally got some snow

Yes, this is a day we didn't expect to see! Got quite a bit of snow last night, and Jonathan finally got to make a snowman (though it was really mommy and daddy who built the snowman, and Jonathan and Kathryn just made snowballs and threw them against the house). At first Jonathan complained the snow was too cold on his hands and "he hated snow". Then, later when I told him the snow was starting to melt, he got upset that he hadn't made a snowman. Soooo, we bundled back up and went outside. It was a fun day! Enjoy the pictures by clicking here.
